Background & Overview

WE, The World is a global coalition-building non-profit organization based in New York City. Founded in 1998 by Rick Ulfik, We, The World annually connects and promotes thousands of socially conscious organizations and businesses, representing millions of people, to amplify their efforts and generate public awareness and action for peace, justice, sustainability and transformation.

September 11-21 Annually: A Platform for Changemakers Worldwide

Background & Overview

In 2004 WE, The World brought together global partners to launch 11 Days of Global Unity on September 11 -21 which linked local awareness and activist campaigns into an inspiring international movement. This event focuses around 11 Ways to Change the World and has become a worldwide platform for the promotion of peace, justice, sustainability, and transformation that annually includes as many as 700 associated events in over 60 countries around the world. It culminates every year on the last day of September 21st which is the U.N. International Day of Peace.

Saturday Night Alive Celebrating 11 Days of Global Unity 

WE, The World, Compassion Games and Tomorrow Together kicked off 11 Days of Global Unity 2016 with The largest USA National Day of Service packing 500,000+ meals commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11.

In celebration of 11 Days of Global Unity, WE, The World gave the Heart of Humanity Award to Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson Arun Gandhi and the Gandhi Family for 100 Years of Promoting Nonviolence.

3 Heroic Nobel Laureate Women at the UN for 11 Days of Global Unity
WE, The World Co-Sponsored this extraordinary event featuring Nobel Peace Prize winners Leymah Gbowee (Liberia), Shirin Ebadi (Iran), and Tawakkol Karman (Yemen) who shared their challenges, experiences and inspirational insights. Moderated by Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Jonathan Granoff.

WE, The World is a Founding Member of Abolition 2000 – a Global Network to Eliminate Nuclear Weapons. We have Co-Sponsored many conferences, Teleseminars, Forums and Campaigns to end the threat of Nuclear Weapons. As part of our Disarmament Campaign we are working closely with We, The World Advisory Board Member and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Jonathan Granoff and the Global Security Institute, as well as Alyn Ware, Monica Willard and many peace groups, raising consciousness and taking action to abolish nuclear weapons for a Livable Future.
